Gini certified as a Group Fitness Instructor for the Fitness Corporation in 1999. As a requirement to teach Group Fitness classes in our facilities, instructors had to be certified through our qualification. The course was run over 13 weeks and involved 2 hours theory and 2 hours practical work per week. At the end of this course was a theory and practical exam - which Gini passed with flying colours. In a class of 12 students, she was one of the 2 I employed to instruct in our clubs. An outstanding instructor full of energy and enthusiasm. She taught for me right up until she left Nelson.

It is my pleasure to provide a reference for Gini Tangira. Gini has been teaching classes at the Blackwater PCYC since 25th March 2019. She teaches 5 classes a week, with professionalism and an energetic attitude. Gini is extremely reliable and displays a high rate of safety for herself and participants. She is always seeking ongoing education to fulfill the needs of the community and to add to her qualification skill set. She has gone to great lengths to build her own program and design her own unique class, which attracts a large number of members. She has put in considerable effort towards marketing classes, which has been of benefit to the PCYC.

Gini is an amazing trainer 🙌🏻. I always walked (or crawled 😅) away from each session feeling like I had accomplished something great!! She would always accommodate for our ability level or if we had any old injuries that would prevent us doing certain exercises. The sessions were always fun and upbeat. Highly recommend her awesome classes!!

I have had Virginia (Gini) as my fabulous fitness instructor for the past 8 months. I started with Metafit just once a week. She has coach and challenged me to use what I have and if you can’t do a particular move she shows a lower option and a more advanced option. You are pushed and yep you may hate it but damn do you feel better for it later. She’s encouraged me to come to PumpHiit and also Yoga classes. I now come to 4 classes a week and over this time I have toned down, gained muscle and really enjoying life more. She makes each class highly enjoyable. When you’re having a bad day you know that at class you will pump or stretch it out and go home a better you - a calmer you.

My self confidence and self awareness of what I can achieve and believe I can do has dramatically changed thanks to the time and effort Ginny puts into her classes. Virginia (aka Gini) is very thorough with the classes she instructs, always well planned out and clear instructions given. Gini donates her time and all monies charged for a class to our centre, which we are extremely grateful of. Her classes have been extremely well received at our centre and constantly booking out. Gini is passionate about making sure the right technique is used to avoid injury and makes all her classes accessible, no matter your fitness levels. I started attending her classes after a shoulder surgery and where needed, she gave alternate exercise instructions to prevent overworking my shoulder.

The Yin Yoga class that I attended this evening is one that I look forward to participating in each week. It begins with relaxing both your mind and body by slowing your breathing down and reminding your body to relax. I then hold body positions for a time period of three minutes each. Each week I am able to see the results of gradually holding my body in stronger positions and with more flexibility. The instructor always gives a variety of levels to use for each position as of course, everyone has varying degrees of movement and agility. At the end of the class, a deep relaxation is experienced where I am totally immersed in the slowness of my breathing and my mind being at rest. 10/10

I trained regularly over several years with Virginia and she also took several of the gym classes I attended. She was always an excellent person to work with as she had a great knowledge of what you were wanting to achieve with your workout. Virginia knew the correct techniques with the weights and always ensured I was doing it right. She has an amazing manner with people and was friendly and full of energy and well liked as an instructor. The amount of energy and enthusiasm she puts into her workouts is amazing and she has always been incredibly passionate about fitness and training. She was a great role model to those of us who attended her classes. I would highly recommend her.
